International recognition in the culinary world: Chef Franck Garanger, who leads the culinary vision of the luxury cruise brand Explora Journeys, has received a prestigious French honor for his exceptional contribution to cuisine and for bridging tradition and innovation.
Franck Garanger, the Head Chef of the luxury cruise brand Explora Journeys, was awarded the title of Knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit (Ordre du Mérite Agricole) by the Agriculture French Ministry—one of the country’s most distinguished honors, granted to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the promotion of French agriculture and gastronomy.
Garanger, a seasoned and senior chef, leads the culinary direction of Explora Journeys and is recognized for his unique approach to cooking, which blends high-quality ingredients, sustainability, French culinary tradition, and contemporary innovation.
“We are thrilled and proud of this important recognition,” said Alban Gjoka, Vice President of Food and Beverage for Explora Journeys’ fleet. “This is a moving personal moment, and also a testament to our commitment to true culinary excellence in every detail on board.”
The ceremony took place on June 5 in the city of Avrillé in western France. The honor was presented by renowned entrepreneur Michel Gallois, a recipient of the Legion of Honor, alongside Deputy Mayor Mr. Halligon. The event was also attended by other leading French chefs, including Jean-François Pigeat and Jacques Toral, owner of a two-Michelin-starred restaurant.
