Trump and US envoy Steve Witkoff told Ukraine's Zelensky that Putin said there could be no ceasefire before Ukraine withdrawed from Donbas.

Former US secretary of state Hilary Clinton discussed Trump’s handling of other geopolitical conflicts, namely in the Middle East. 

Trump reportedly pushed for a quick agreement instead of a comprehensive ceasefire in an hour-long phone call with European leaders after meeting Putin.

Trump said that he and Putin did not reach an agreement on "probably the most significant" aspect of their meeting, but there was a very good chance of getting there.

Half a dozen senior European officials told Reuters that they see a risk of a deal being struck that is unfavorable for Europe and Ukraine's security.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Tuesday that Russia was preparing for new offensive operations just days before the meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska.

While there has been talk about when and where the two leaders will meet, it is unknown whether or not Trump will still impose tariffs on the Kremlin before the talks.

Putin said that he was not 'on the whole' against meeting Zelensky adding that 'certain conditions should be created' for such a meeting.

"An agreement was essentially reached to hold a bilateral meeting at the highest level in the coming days, that is, a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump," Ushakov said.

The "massive strike" damaged the train station and other infrastructure in the town, a transport hub in the Kharkiv region bordering Russia, state rail operator Ukrzaliznytsia said in a statement.
