Prof. Menachem Elkalay was convicted after more than 35 women alleged that they were sexually assaulted during medical examinations he performed.

This announcement follows Maj.-Gen. Balat's directive last week to freeze the investigative completions initially considered under the framework of the affair.

Police opened an investigation three days earlier after receiving a complaint concerning suspected sexual offenses committed against the young trainee.
