If you’re looking for a light, quick-to-make, and impressive dessert, rose-scented chocolate malabi could be the perfect choice. This is a modern take on the traditional malabi, made with almond milk and sweetened with silan, with the addition of cocoa for depth and rich flavor. The dessert is especially suitable for those who prefer lighter sweet dishes after a meal. It can be served in individual glasses and garnished with fresh fruits, nuts, or almonds – a combination that adds both texture and nutritional value.

Ingredients

For about 6 servings:

4 cups almond milk
1/3 cup silan
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup cornstarch or arrowroot powder
1 tablespoon rose water

Preparation

In a large microwave-safe bowl, whisk together 3 ½ cups of almond milk, silan, and cocoa powder. Heat in the microwave for about 2 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the remaining ½ cup of almond milk.
Add the cornstarch mixture to the hot milk mixture and whisk well.
Return to the microwave for an additional 4 to 6 minutes, stirring every two minutes, until it reaches a pudding-like consistency.
Remove from the microwave and stir in the rose water.
Pour into serving glasses and refrigerate until set.

The result is a delicate, aromatic dessert that combines natural sweetness, chocolatey flavor, and a subtle floral aroma – perfect for ending a meal or as a sweet treat during the day.
