Royal Philips recently launched its new premium models of shavers from the 9000 Series, called Prestige. As someone who has suffered for years from very sensitive skin that reacts to shaver pulls, I was happy to discover firsthand that the new and advanced model allows for a shave as close as with a razor, but not only does it not harm the skin, it provides a feeling of comfort and gentleness. The unique shaving head of the S9000 Prestige series models is based on NanoTec technology. In this technology, the blades are enriched with nano particles to increase sharpness and maintain it over time. The improved blades easily cut even thick and long hairs with maximum closeness to the skin.
The head of the blades operates with Philips' revolutionary Contour Detect technology, which allows the head to move in many directions simultaneously and follow the contours of the face perfectly. The movement of the blades in accordance with the facial curves enables a close shave even in curved and hard-to-reach areas such as the neck or chin.
To optimally deal with hairs of varying length and thickness in different facial areas, the Prestige models are also equipped with a BeardAdapt sensor that can scan beard density 15 times per second and adjust the number of motor rotations according to hair thickness. This technology ensures that the S9000 Prestige shaver works at optimal efficiency throughout use and allows shaving even a seven-day beard easily and quickly.
Personalized Shaving
The S9000 Prestige shavers by Philips provide men with a comfortable and personalized shaving experience tailored to their needs. Each man can choose one of three personal comfort settings, which adjust shaving speed according to preference and shaving style: A fast mode for quick and efficient shaving, a gentle mode for those with sensitive and redness-prone skin, and a regular mode for convenient daily use.
To provide a comfortable shaving experience in one stroke without skin irritation, the shavers also feature innovative SkinComfort rings with a special anti-friction coating. The coating allows a smoother and more pleasant glide of the shaving head on the skin and reduces redness after shaving. The different models in the S9000 Prestige series include accessories that complete the grooming experience. All models feature a trimming head for precise shaping of sideburns, mustache, or cheeks, fully waterproof, allowing easy choice between a quick dry shave and a refreshing wet shave, in the shower or with shaving gel.
The SP9861/16 model in the Prestige S9000 series also includes a Qi charging pad for simple and fast contactless charging of the shaver. The charging pad can fully charge the device in just three hours – and can also charge other electronic devices such as mobile phones or any device that supports this standard.
The digital LED display of the shaver provides an accurate indication of the battery level in percentages and also alerts when the shaver needs cleaning, blade head replacement, or battery charging. This model also includes a styling head that replaces the blade head and allows trimming the beard in five different length settings. All models in the series include approval for halachic use by the Zomet Institute. The recommended retail price of model SP9820/12 is NIS 1,790. The recommended retail price of model SP9861/16 is NIS 2,190.
