The school temporarily suspended classes and released a statement denouncing the violent incident. The shooter's identity and motive remain unclear at the time of writing.

The cells intended to carry out attacks against Jews and Israeli security personnel, authorities said. Weapons allegedly intended for attacks, along with other combat equipment, were seized.

United Hatzalah responders reported treating a 19-year-old with a gunshot wound, noting that he was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in serious condition. 

According to police reports, it remains unclear what led the suspect, who is reportedly currently serving in the military, to open fire at police officers.

The dispute centers on the disappearance for nine days of a Russian nationalist activist fighting alongside Ukrainian troops in the 4-1/2-year-old war pitting Moscow against Kyiv.

Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill told a press conference that officials decided to bring state charges because in North Carolina the girl can be tried as an adult.

"Investigations into the exact circumstances of the incident, as well as its background and possible motive, are currently underway," the police said.

According to Italy’s Foreign Ministry, the one victim who was killed in the shooting was an Italian citizen.

“An attack on a lawyer acting within the law as his client’s representative crosses a red line,” prosecutors wrote, adding that lawyers must be able to work without fear of being killed.

The court records detail an initial confrontation on the evening of August 7, when Hewett and his father, Raymond, walked up to the property to demand an interaction with a staff member.
