What exactly are they counting when they tally up “settler violence?” I’ve seen the reports, and I’ve lived the reality. The numbers aren’t just inflated, they’re ridiculous.

“Should I have just stood there and allowed the settler sheep and donkeys to steal fodder?” I asked. The expression on her face said yes.

Dina Rovner, legal advisor at UN Watch, said the reporting continues to reflect a persistent bias against Israel, as only 9% addresses Palestinian attacks against Israelis.

On Tuesday, the United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, France, New Zealand, and Australia announced new sanctions against several individuals and organizations in the West Bank.

The UN report claimed that Israeli authorities had enabled settler attacks through financial and military support, in an alleged climate of impunity fostered by judicial and law-enforcement bodies.

Six countries, including the UK and Canada, imposed joint sanctions on West Bank settlers and entities over violence, calling the actions a threat to a two-state solution.

If the Europeans hope their sanctions will bend Israel’s will, they are deeply misreading the Israeli public. Such actions will be used in the upcoming election campaign to bolster the Right.

The clashes included incidents of stone throwing and the use of clubs between Israeli civilians and Palestinians, according to the IDF.
