A drone smuggling 12 pistols from Jordan was intercepted overnight by IDF soldiers and Border Police officers on Sunday night, according to a joint statement.

In the desert town of Nushki, home to about 50,000, the insurgents seized control of the police station and other security installations, triggering a three-day standoff.

Despite surging antisemitism and hate crimes globally, the 16 officers of the federal police who protect the Jewish quarter in Antwerp will no longer be deployed after January first.

According to the source, necessary security upgrades at the crossing have been completed on both the Israeli and Jordanian sides.

The discovery follows a lengthy investigation that revealed the involvement of several individuals in recent assaults, including attacks on military vehicles that injured soldiers.

The guards are suspected of exploiting their access to the town’s security systems and their authority at checkpoints to allow entry in exchange for payment.

Police in the Lachish district began a search operation after IDF forces in the area failed to prevent the infiltration.

Israel often brings its crises to other countries and tries to evade taking responsibility for the "horrifying massacres it committed in Gaza," Sharaa told the crowds. 

Ramtha is located in northern Jordan near the border with Syria. Over the last decade, it has been a transit area for many Syrian refugees and displaced people.

The IDF has heightened the alert level of its forces on the Lebanon border over concerns that Hezbollah could exploit winter weather and reduced visibility.
