The opposition had been standing at 60 seats, at the cusp of a majority, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition remained at 50 seats. The Arab parties, meanwhile, stand at 10 seats.

The 2025 Survey of Canadian Jews found that a majority of Canadian Jews (53%) oppose settlement expansion in the West Bank and Gaza.

The responses were divided into those who support Israel joining the attack only if Iran first attacked or prepared to attack (29%) and those who would support Israeli participation regardless (44%).

The poll found that 75% of Americans oppose the move, while 25% say they support it. Republicans and Republican-leaning independents are evenly divided, with 50% in favor and 50% opposed.

Another 17% said the affair is troubling but not very serious, 13% said it is not an affair at all, and 9% said they could not assess its severity.

The poll also found that appointing Brig.-Gen. (res.) Ofir Winter to head Religious Zionist Party in place of Bezalel Smotrich would allow the party to cross the threshold with six seats.

When asked who is best suited to lead Likud in the next national election, 80.4% of respondents chose Netanyahu. Other senior party figures received significantly lower levels of support.

Approximately three-quarters of Jewish respondents said they believe it is safer for Jews to live in Israel than abroad, while Arab respondents were split.

Parties that did not cross the electoral threshold in this survey were Blue and White (2%), Religious Zionism (2.8%), Balad (2%), and “the Reservists” list (3%).

Against the backdrop of the draft law, the establishment of a government commission of inquiry, and the interview by Eli Feldstein on the Qatargate affair, coalition parties maintain their strength.
