A mayor who will not stand with his Jewish constituents on their proudest public day, because standing there would tie him to the existence of Israel, has told them plainly what he thinks of them.

Interfaith advocate Anila Ali says she will march in support of Israel amid rising antisemitism, as controversy grows over Mayor Zohran Mamdani's decision to skip the event.

Huckabee was honored for his support of Israel and efforts after October 7 while encouraging graduates to serve and embrace their Jewish identity.

"From the water to the water, Palestine is Arab," protesters chanted. "Brick by brick, wall by wall, Zionism will fall."

Bruce Blakeman, who has been endorsed by Trump, was among the hundreds of people at the day-long event. In the evening, as has become routine at similar events in the five boroughs.

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion praised Avdija for representing the State of Israel as a public figure in the US and for bringing pride to Jews and Israelis worldwide. 

Masih Alinejad, the target of the plot, fled Iran following the contentious 2009 presidential election and ensuing protest movement. She became a US citizen in 2019. 

“While I will not be attending the Israel Day Parade, my lack of attendance should not be mistaken for a refusal to provide security or the necessary permits for its safety," NYC Mayor Mamdani said.

Pro-Israel activists filed a cease-and-desist letter after Park Slope Food Co-op approved a boycott of Israeli products, alleging the move is illegal.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani will not attend the Israel Parade, the first NYC mayor to skip the event since 1964, sparking controversy and protests over antisemitism and policy.
