Dutch police have stated the suspect was allegedly involved in plans to either plant an explosive device or set fire to the synagogue. 

Sarah Hildering van Lith, an Amsterdam-born music industry executive, told the Post that a series of incidents convinced her she could no longer safely remain in the Netherlands.
