The Israeli Right that formed them was largely secular, nationalist, and security-minded. The Israeli Right replacing it is increasingly religious and messianic.

I eagerly await the day, perhaps in the 2028 or 2030 elections, when the current crop of politicians will have passed – and that means everybody from Netanyahu to Lapid and Gafni.

The Israeli Right is not merely wasting votes. It may be wasting the makings of an entire government. The tragedy begins when each concludes that being qualified for first makes third unacceptable.

The committee's decision will not necessarily be the final legal word. The High Court will resume hearing the petition on Wednesday at 8 a.m., after the parties update it on the committee’s decision.

Israel’s schools already teach students that voting matters. The harder lesson is how to reach a decision worth owning.

The Tzohar Rabbinical Organization rejected Aviner’s interpretation, saying leading halachic authorities had already ruled that Jews may vote for non-Jewish candidates for the Knesset.

"It's not a slip of the tongue. I simply see what's happening on the networks, what elements within the Likud, within the coalition, have been saying about me since October 7," he told Maariv.

Gotliv later hinted at a political future outside Likud and said she was considering leaving for another right-wing party, saying “I would consider it seriously.”
