The Tate brothers, former kickboxers who have dual US and British citizenship, have denied any wrongdoing. They are held in a federal jail in Miami as a judge weighs Britain's extradition request.

The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) had previously charged the brothers with a total of 21 counts in relation to three victims, including rape and human trafficking.

The audit, conducted from December 2024 through July 2025, examined enforcement of the law, investigations into trafficking for prostitution, protection of victims, and decisions on residence visas.

The indictment came at the culmination of a year-long undercover investigation that began in July of 2025, after suspicion arose regarding the suspects using social media to recruit victims.

Syrian authorities have maintained that the woman voluntarily left her family home and converted of her own free will. Her family, however, contends that she was abducted and is being held by force.

According to Israel Police, the suspects lured the women in with false promises of office jobs and provided them housing before forcing them to provide sexual services.

The affair had been under investigation since December 2025, when police received a report from the foreign worker who claimed he had been employed by the couple for four years.

The police determined that the migrants were taken in a cargo vehicle by an unknown driver and left at the Slovenian border after having been subject to "inhumane conditions" during the drive.

According to N12, the request detailed similar cases from around the world, where indictments were filed against the platform following suspicions of sexual abuse and exploitation of women.
