China has been invited to join US President Donald Trump's Board of Peace initiative aimed at resolving global conflicts.

“Erdogan and the despicable Qatar, the greatest haters of Israel, the most enthusiastic aides of Hamas, are being ushered in through the front door to run Gaza,” Bennett wrote on X/Twitter.

While speaking to reporters, Trump also confirmed he would discuss acquiring Greenland at this week's Davos World Economic Forum.

It was not immediately clear if Israel had accepted the invitation. The Prime Minister's Office did not respond to Reuters's request for comment.

Smotrich thanked Trump for his support for Israel and efforts to assist in returning hostages, but said the US president’s Gaza plan should be canceled.

"Morocco welcomes the second phase of Trump’s comprehensive peace plan," the country's foreign ministry announced.

One essential element remains conspicuously absent from the new peace plan: a credible, empowered Palestinian representative capable of engaging Israel directly.
