A cross-party group of Members of the European Parliament have called upon the commission to stop funding Palestinian education until antisemitism is purged from textbooks.

Grants designed to preserve the Palestinian identity of east Jerusalem with the aim of promoting it as the capital of a future State of Palestine were handed to a number of NGOs in the region.

In their letter, the lawmakers urged “the EU to end this false distinction between ‘military’ and ‘political’ arms"

The high-level meetings allowed both sides to examine the state of their relations and to seek paths to advance them.

The PA passes around €200 million Euros received from the EU on to the PLO annually, which in turn distributes some of the money to terror groups.

Borrell added that he is using all of the EU’s “diplomatic capacities in order to put pressure for that not to happen.”

The move comes at a time when Germany and the EU are reconsidering relations with China in the face of increased investment in critical sectors by Chinese state-owned enterprises.

Parliamentarians "insisted that the Commission should thoroughly verify the use of Union funds by third party entities to ensure no funds are allocated to any cause or form of terrorism."

MEP Charlie Weimers, of the European Conservatives and Reformists group, pointed out that the European Parliament passed a resolution in 2018 that called for the safe return of Israelis.

“We were breast-less, we had lost our period, we were not wearing any underwear," Senator Segre said. "We can’t be afraid of using these words – this was the way a woman was stripped of her dignity.”
