Israel cannot achieve sustainable security by permanently controlling millions of Palestinians.

There may be a certain political logic in trying to appease both the Israeli Right and Trump. But what the public sees is a prime minister categorically rejecting a plan while carrying it out.

Prof. Eytan Gilboa spoke with the Post after KAN reported that officials from a regional country advised another to make an agreement with Israel to "lull it to sleep" before an attack.

Defense officials confirmed on Sunday that opportunities to strike Hamas military wing operatives had been missed over the past week because of government policy.

Since the ceasefire was declared, the clans have helped secure the Yellow Line and the area west of it, while also assisting in locating weapons and terrorist infrastructure above and below ground. 

Jerusalem has yet to formally approve the US-backed roadmap, as ministers push back against a proposed 14-day preparatory period and demand guarantees that Hamas will genuinely disarm.

Speaking during a security cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Zini said Hamas believes it should have pursued the demilitarization agreement with the Board of Peace in order to "trap Israel."
