Sirens alerted residents of the Northern West Bank settlement of Elei Zahav that there was a suspected terrorist infiltration in the early hours of Saturday morning. The alert was later confirmed to be a false alarm.
The IDF Home Front Command instructed residents to immediately enter protected areas and remain there until further notice.
Infiltrations into West Bank settlements
The infiltration warning follows a similar incident in the early hours of Friday morning, where suspects are thought to have entered the Kohav HaShahar settlement.
A report of a suspected attempt to break into a house in Kohav HaShahar was received by the IDF earlier this morning, the military confirmed. Security forces were dispatched to the scene to conduct searches for the suspected intruder in the area.
Two masked men infiltrated the settlement of Na’ale, also in the West Bank, through the security fence on Saturday night, according to Israeli public broadcaster KAN News.
The two men reportedly walked the streets of the settlement for near three hours before being noticed by local security.
This is a developing story.
