The IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) uncovered an extensive Hamas terrorist network in Hebron that was planning to commit terror attacks imminently, the security organizations said in a statement on Sunday.

Over 60 terrorists organized into 10 separate terror cells were arrested by security forces.

Most of the individuals who were apprehended were previously released convicts.

According to the statement, the terrorists had been conducting weapons training, gathering intelligence on Israeli targets, manufacturing explosives, and assembling improvised explosive devices.

Several firearms, grenades, and ammunition were found.

Hamas training potential new terrorists in the West Bank

The Shin Bet said, after its initial interrogation of the suspects, that senior Hamas operatives were recruiting, arming, and training potential terrorists in the West Bank for the purpose of carrying out shooting and bombing attacks against Israeli targets.

It added that severe indictments were being filed against the suspects, charging them with offenses such as leading a terrorist organization, holding command roles, and attempted murder.
