Altman Health launches “Multivitamin and Omega 3” in one capsule for pregnant and breastfeeding women, a development that will allow women, for the first time, to consume all the recommended supplements in one easy-to-swallow capsule with a Soft Gel texture.
During pregnancy, the need for nutritional components increases significantly, and a regular diet does not always provide the required amounts. Studies indicate that consumption of the vitamins and minerals found in a prenatal multivitamin helps reduce the risk of birth defects, low birth weight, gestational diabetes, and preeclampsia.
At the same time, it has been found that consumption of omega 3 fatty acids contributes to proper cognitive and motor development of the newborn and also helps reduce the risk of preterm birth. Therefore, the Israeli Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology recommends that every pregnant woman consume a daily multivitamin as well as omega 3 (if she does not consume fish rich in omega 3 fatty acids according to the requirement) as an integral part of her health routine.
