The am:pm convenience store chain is taking a significant step in the retail food market with the launch of a new product line called Delicatizi, which focuses on high-quality delicatessen products. The move, which comes with an investment of hundreds of thousands of shekels, marks a new direction for a chain that has so far been perceived mainly as a quick solution for daily shopping.

The new line aims to bridge the gap between traditional convenience stores and high-quality delicatessens. Instead of driving to a specialty deli and paying high prices, the idea is to make the same products accessible in the neighborhood and available 24 hours a day.

The products hitting the shelves include fresh pastas with unique sauces, crispy arancini balls, gourmet pizzas, pizza doughs with a selection of ready-to-serve sauces, focaccias, unique cheeses and spreads. All the products were sourced from leading delicatessens and manufacturers in Israel and around the world.

“Being the city’s pantry”

Shirel Hogeg, CEO of am:pm, explains the rationale behind the move: “The goal is to be the high-quality pantry of every customer in the city – the best, the most available, all the time.” According to him, the chain was born from the city and for the city, and lives by the fast urban rhythm.

Hogeg adds that the move is intended to provide a solution for a hot, tasty and high-quality meal – whether it’s a family dinner, quick home cooking or hosting. “We are making the high-quality experience of quick urban shopping accessible – tasty, nearby and available,” he says.
