A British teacher on Thursday was accused of putting children at risk and was reported to the government's counter-terrorism program after showing students videos of Donald Trump's victory, The Telegraph reported.

The accusations were made after the educator, a man in his 50s, showed videos of Donald Trump to his US politics class. After the incident happened, the teacher was "likened to a terrorist," as he told The Telegraph.

He has been accused of causing his 17 and 18-year-old students "emotional harm." The Telegraph reported seeing a document where British officials in charge of child protection suggested that the decision to expose the US President's videos in class could be configured as a "hate crime."

The lecturer was reported by Henley College, a sixth-form college in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, with more than 2,000 students. The report was registered with the local child safeguarding authority.

Henley's academic board claimed that one of the videos had “made one of the students feel quite uncomfortable”.

Teacher receives compensation after agreement

The teacher, moved by the accusations, opened a grievance procedure against the College. As a result, a settlement was reached, providing the lecturer with a £2,000 payout after the institution forced him to resign.

Placing himself as a victim of the case, the educator declared: “They likened me to a terrorist. It was completely jarring. It’s dystopian, like something from a George Orwell novel.”

He accused the college of a “complete Left-wing bias”, adding: “They don’t tolerate anything about Donald Trump.”
