The IDF, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), Israel Border Police, and Israel police forces completed an operation on Thursday night in the Jabal Johar area in Hebron, the IDF spokesperson's unit announced on Friday morning. 

The operation had begun earlier this week, as part of an ongoing effort to enforce law and order and maintain security in the area.

Over the course of the operation, security forces searched approximately 350 structures, apprehended 14 individuals wanted for terrorism related activity and possession of weapons, and confiscated eight firearms, dozens of knives, and additional weapons.

IDF overnight operations in Jericho 

On Thursday evening, Army Radio's Doron Kadosh reported that Palestinians in the West Bank city of Jericho threw rocks and other objects at an empty IDF vehicle, which got stuck during the course of the evening's activity. The suspects were also seen climbing onto the vehicle.

The IDF responded on Friday morning, confirming the events, according to Kadosh, and adding that the suspects were detained.

The arrest process, per the IDF, included shooting their weapons into the air. No casualties were reported, and the vehicle sustained no damage. The suspects were not taken in for further questioning, and eventually the event dispersed. 

IDF drills in the North of the country

An IDF drill will take place on Friday morning in Kiryat Shmona, the IDF announced.

The drill will be held both within the nearby Gibor military base and within the city itself. Residents are warned that there will be increased military vehicles present on the roads, as well as the usage of pyrotechnics.

In its first excursion outside of Gaza and the Gaza border region since October 2023, the 9th Battalion of the IDF's 401st Armored Brigade finished a week of drills in the Golan Heights, according to a Friday statement from the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.

The IDF statement alluded to its recent military actions in Lebanon and potential plans for the near future, and the need for its soldiers to be ready in a variety of circumstances.

"Until now, we have been...fighting in built-up areas, while seeing the threat right in front of our eyes. The northern route is characterized by open spaces, mountains, and valleys under whose cover the enemy may hide and attack from afar," said Major (res.) M..
