Troops from the IDF's ultra-Orthodox (haredi) Hashmonaim Brigade, under the 52nd Battalion and alongside the 474th Brigade, completed their first operational activity in southern Syria, the military confirmed on Thursday.
As part of the activity, the soldiers conducted targeted searches in the area and gathered intelligence with the aim of removing threats to Israeli security.
"The Hashmonaim Brigade will continue to operate across all arenas, while also enabling its ultra-Orthodox soldiers to maintain their way of life," the IDF said in a statement.
Soldiers from the 210th Division will also continue to be deployed in the area.
IDF kills terrorist, shoots two others in overnight West Bank ambush
Also on Thursday, soldiers of the IDF's Brigade 636 killed a terrorist who threw stones at them near the village of Luban al-Sharqiyya in the West Bank during an overnight ambush, the military confirmed in a statement.
"Two additional terrorists were hit," the statement went on.
No IDF injuries were reported.
