The IDF announced that it launched a search on Friday in Mevo Horon, near Modi'in, following reports of a terrorist infiltration in the area.

At 10:17 p.m., an alert sounded in the West Bank town due to an apparent infiltration, ordering people to enter a protected area. 

"A search team from the Binyamin Brigade sector was dispatched after infiltration alert sirens sounded in the Mevo Horon settlement due to three suspects in the area," the military said.

After about six hours, the IDF Home Front Command lifted the alert, allowing civilians to move around the area without restrictions.

Other infiltrations this year

Earlier in October, a report of a suspected infiltration was issued in the West Bank settlement of Kohav HaShahar, following another incident in which two masked men crossed the security fence into Na'ale a few days prior. The men roamed the West Bank settlement for three hours before being noticed by local security.

Roughly 6,000 Palestinians illegally crossed the security barrier around Jerusalem, the Knesset's National Security Committee was told on Wednesday, with 1,000 infiltrations attempted in the past week alone. 88% percent of the infiltrators were apprehended and 800 of them imprisoned. 

Following the attacks on October 7, Israel has lowered the number of exceptional entry permits to Palestinians in the West Bank from 100,000 to 8,000.
