CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla visited Israel as a guest of IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, the military, announced in a Tuesday statement.

The American military and the IDF held a joint panel to discuss the achievements of Operation Rising Lion, according to the release.

The CENTCOM chief also visited an underground Israel Air Force operations center with IAF chief Maj.-Gen. Tomer Bar.

The meeting comes after Israel and the US conducted joint strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in Operation Midnight Hammer in late June.

Kurilla supported the idea of strikes on Iran before the operation, a source told The Jerusalem Post

IDF and CENTCOM discuss success of Operation Rising Lion

Israeli officials reportedly wanted to strike Iran before Kurilla left his post as commander of CENTCOM.

Kurillla noted in a post from early June that Iran was "mere steps from reaching the 90% threshold for weaponization."

"It is estimated that current stockpiles and the available centrifuges ... are sufficient to produce its first 25 kg of weapons-grade material in roughly one week and enough for up to ten nuclear weapons in three weeks."
