A man was arrested on suspicion of committing 'indecent acts' on patients at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, the Israeli police said on Friday.

The 23-year-old suspect from Har Homa allegedly entered the hospital dressed in attire resembling that of the medical staff and presented himself as an authorized hospital employee.

The investigation was triggered after the father of a 16-year-old minor filed a complaint against the suspect. The teenage patient is believed to be one of the victims.

After the complaint was filed, investigators from the Moriah station in Jerusalem, in collaboration with the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital’s security department, launched an investigation.

During the investigation, the suspect was located and arrested, and further allegations suggest that he may have harmed additional patients.

Arrest and court appearance

The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, where police will request an extension of his detention to continue their investigation.

The police statement read, “Quick actions during the investigation led to the identification and arrest of the suspect, and it has also come to light that he may have harmed additional patients.”

Authorities are urging other potential victims to come forward and file complaints, as general concern rises regarding other unknown patients who may have been affected or assaulted.
