The Haifa District Court indicted Meir Lasri, an employee at a state religious school in Binyamina, for raping a young security guard. The details of the case were released on Wednesday.

Lasri, 42, who served as the school's custodian, was indicted for rape, forcible indecent assault, and sexual harassment of a young security guard on her first day on the job.

The indictment, submitted by the Haifa District Attorney’s Office through prosecutor Lilach Sarna, states that the rape took place in the guard's booth at the school gate during teaching hours.

As stated in the case documents, on September 10, Lasri approached the security guard during her first shift and drew her into a conversation filled with sexual comments, questions about her body, and demands for explicit descriptions of her sex life, despite having no previous acquaintance with the victim.

Guard booth attack: Indictment filed for forcible rape

Lasri later returned to the guard booth and took advantage of the young guard being alone. He entered the booth, claiming the air conditioner was not working, and asked her to close the door.

The suspect had locked the booth and, according to the indictment, approached the victim, grabbed her forcefully as she tried to break free, lowered his pants and underwear, and assaulted her until he reached climax, all without her consent.

Police in Zichron Ya’acov arrested Lasri that same day. He denied any contact with the victim.

However, the investigation file includes her detailed testimony, school security camera footage, and other evidence that, together, present a consistent account.

The prosecutors charged Lasri with rape, forcible indecent acts, and sexual harassment. They are seeking his detention until the end of legal proceedings, noting that he already holds five prior convictions for drug and violent offenses.
