William Daroff is one of the most influential figures in the American Jewish community. As CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Daroff serves as the senior professional leading an umbrella organization representing 50 national Jewish organizations across the ideological and religious spectrum.
His job is, for the most part, to build consensus and advance the priorities of the organized American Jewish community. He also focuses on strengthening the US-Israel relationship, combating antisemitism, promoting Jewish communal security, and addressing major foreign-policy issues affecting Israel and Jewish communities worldwide.
That role has given Daroff an unusually prominent seat at the table. He maintains regular contact with the White House, members of Congress, and senior policymakers. He has also testified before committees of the United States Senate and House of Representatives, the European Parliament, and the Knesset.
Over the past year, with the war between Iran and Israel, the changing strategic landscape in the Middle East, and the continued rise of antisemitism, Daroff has remained at the center of American Jewish advocacy.
In February 2026, he led a Conference of Presidents delegation to Azerbaijan for meetings with President Ilham Aliyev and senior officials, discussing Israel-Azerbaijan ties and regional security.
In June, Daroff and conference chair Betsy Berns Korn met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to discuss the role of Egypt and the US in achieving peace and stability in the Middle East and addressing shared challenges, particularly terrorism and extremist ideology. The president also stressed the need to continue boosting bilateral relations across various political, economic, and investment fields.

He is married to Heidi Krizer Daroff. They have two children.
