Wi-Charge, the global leader in long-range wireless power transfer, and Kontrol, an innovative Israeli company in the field of smart biometric access, have launched + Kontrol BIO, the world's first smart biometric lock powered by "air" electricity.
The collaboration eliminates the need for wiring or battery replacement, setting a new benchmark for smart lock design. Wi-Charge integrated its AirCord technology for energy transfer via infrared light into Kontrol's new smart biometric lock.
The device is designed for installation in private homes, apartments, as well as offices and commercial spaces, combining advanced biometric identification with continuous, maintenance-free wireless power supply.
Users can unlock doors using facial recognition, palm vein scanning, fingerprint, code, IC card, and mobile app. Certain devices also integrate an external camera and an internal display for live viewing and notifications.
The design is privacy-focused: Biometric data is stored locally on the device, video is accessible only with user consent, and deletion is controlled by the user. Additionally, it features a dedicated Sabbath mode for Israel.
