The delivery company Wolt, known until now for delivering food to your doorstep, is introducing the next generation of its service. Through its new app, set to roll out to users within the month, Wolt’s new interface will give users access to nearly every daily need.

Until recently focused on food delivery, Wolt has made over 700 million deliveries in over 30 countries. Headquartered in Helsinki, the Finnish company has reached millions of people in the 11 years since its founding.

In 2022, the American food delivery company DoorDash acquired Wolt in a multi-billion-dollar deal, after which it continued to operate under the Wolt branding in Europe and Asia. Since then, Wolt has generated billions of dollars in revenue and is looking to expand to other markets.

Wolt's expansion into non-food retail

According to Israel Avrahami, VP of Retail at Wolt Israel, non-food retail orders now account for 35% of all orders, which he calls a “clear sign that Wolt has already become an ‘everything app.’”

According to Wolt, the new app design reflects its vision for the future, introducing several new features. A new search button, including “supermarkets, fashion stores, pharmacies, electronics, and more,” will help customers find almost anything they want quickly.

New product comparison features let customers compare prices and quality in one place, without going back and forth between websites or stores.

Digital showcases will inform customers about seasonal promotions, trends, and more, giving buyers unique shopping experiences tailored to each person.

According to Avrahami, “the new design expresses who we are today: instant, simple, and personal service — everything you need, all in one app.”
