Trump for his outstanding efforts to bring our dear brothers and sisters home from their brutal captivity in the hands of Hamas and to prepare the way for peace in the region.
Mr. President, throughout this terrible two-year period of waiting for their release from the tunnels of Gaza, your commitment to the welfare of the hostages, the security of the State of Israel, and your embrace not only of the hostage families but also of all the People of Israel, has been unswerving and unparalleled. It has required immense passion and leadership and the skill to bring together many competing forces in the noble pursuit of peace, an objective we all hold so dear and has been at the heart of all our prayers for so long.
The horrific events of October 7, 2023, the greatest massacre of Jews since the Shoah, and the subsequent explosion of Jew hatred across the world have been felt by all Jewish communities, not least those of our own continent.
Antisemitism has spiralled with violent attacks against our communities and a public space so often dominated by hostile forces not least in our centres of education and in the media.
We know that this targeting of Jews has been present in your own country too.
Yet throughout this challenging period, your voice has never wavered in our support, the support of a true friend of the Jewish People.
We wish you only further success in your noble cause of peace and we join with the Jewish People in Israel and around the world in wishing you a heartfelt Beruchim Haba’im to our Jewish State.
Welcome, Mr. President, the Jewish communities of Europe and the people of Israel, whom you have defended and protected in such adversity, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
