Beyoncé was named the fifth musician to reach billionaire status by Forbes on Monday, after the 44-year-old grossed nearly $600 million in her 2023 Renaissance World Tour and topped records again with her 2024 country album Cowboy Carter.

Beyoncé’s success continued in 2025 when she performed the world’s highest-grossing concert tour of the year. The Cowboy Carter Tour grossed more than $400 million in ticket sales alone, according to Pollstar, and a further $50 million in merchandise sold at the shows, according to Forbes.

Forbes estimated that she brought in $148 million in 2025 before taxes and is now the third-highest-paid musician globally.

The fifth musician to become a billionaire, Beyoncé follows her husband, Jay-Z, as well as Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Bruce Springsteen.

Beyoncé's successful career outside music

Beyond her singing career, Beyoncé has a successful business empire, which began with the founding of Pakwood Entertainment in 2010. The move allowed her to take control of much of her career in-house.

“When I decided to manage myself, it was important that I didn’t go to some big management company,” she said during a 2013 interview promoting her self-titled album, Beyoncé. “I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire and show other women when you get to this point in your career, you don’t have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success—you do it yourself.”

Since then, she has established her name across multiple markets, starting her own hair care brand, whiskey label, and clothing line.
