FRIDAY, AUGUST 8

Attend the opening of Heartchive, an exhibition and artistic panel focused on Idit Kischinovsky’s five years of artistic efforts.

Her Straight to the Heart Police began with a positive clown character, who dares to introduce humanistic elements to scenes of protest and state brutality, as police officers use force to restore order.

Kischinovsky now conjures creative, daring ways to heal the heart of Jerusalem, which some consider to be the heart of the world.

10 a.m. opening. Hansen House attic. 14 Gedalyahu Alon St. Curated by Maayan Sheleff. Until Friday, August 15. The panel will take place on Monday, August 11, at 4 p.m. Free.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 9

Have you ever heard of Edwin Katzen-Ellenbogen? He holds the dubious distinction of the only Jewish person ever convicted of committing Nazi war crimes. He did so in Buchenwald, where he was a camp physician.

Adaptation to Darkness, directed by Shay Fogelman, is an unusually unsettling celluloid depiction of a brilliant yet disturbed human being.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 10

Swig some Schmulz Jerusalem beer by Shmuel Naky as the work-week begins. Made with wildflower honey collected on the mountains near the capital, there is even a La-Maritu option, made with special Ethiopian honey imported from Lalibela, where the famous rock-cut churches are located.

Contact Shmuel Naky at schmulzbeer@gmail.com to buy directly from the maker, or quaff at the Sambation Cocktail Bar, 22 Gershon Agron St.
