After supporting some of Israel’s greatest artists, from Ehud Banai and Dudu Tassa to Gidi Gov and Chava Alberstein, trumpeter Idit Mintzer is launching her own band and performance at this month’s Manofim Festival in Jerusalem.

Idit Mintzer and Friends, featuring legendary bassist Yossi Fine, will perform “Triptych of Performances at the Edges of the World” on July 23, with each of the three acts featuring a unique musical mix ranging from meditative music to jazz, Mediterranean psychedelia, and African groove piyutim (liturgical songs).

Mintzer starred as a soloist in the Jerusalem East-West Orchestra for the last decade.

The Manofim Festival, now in its 17th year, is taking place from July 22-26 and includes events at contemporary art galleries and leading cultural centers throughout Jerusalem.
