Iran has concluded its attacks on Israel, the Iranian military's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said in a statement published by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-run Fars News Agency on Monday afternoon.
Iran's attacks came as a result of Israel's strikes in southern Lebanon, the statement said.
Should the "aggression and evils continue, much more severe and crushing measures will be on the way," Iran's military threatened.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated in a post on Twitter/X that Iran's "priority is national security and the peace of our people. We will defend the rights of the nation with authority and will not retreat in the face of any threat. Diplomacy and defense are the two wings of national power.
"We have neither abandoned the field nor the negotiating table," Pezeshkian added. "God willing, with unity and rationality, Iran will emerge triumphant from this trial as well."
Negotiations between US and Iran are to end war, do not include Iran's nuclear program - report
Current negotiations with the United States are focused solely on ending the war, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-affiliated Tasnim News Agency reported on Monday, citing Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.
According to Baghaei, reports of discussions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program are false, as talks surrounding the program are “not being held at this stage.”
“If this stage is concluded, the nuclear issue will be one of the next items for negotiations,” Tasnim quoted him as saying. “The rest of the discussions that are being raised now are media speculation.”
Earlier on Monday, Qatari Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and Saudi Arabian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, spoke on the phone this morning about facilitating mediation efforts between the US and Iran.
They discussed co-ordinating efforts for de-escalation to increase security and stability in the region amid the ongoing waves of strikes being shared between Israel and Iran.
