The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthis says it destroyed a ballistic missile fired by the group towards the kingdom's eastern region early on Thursday, as hostilities between both sides show no signs of abating.

Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense issued two alerts warning of potential danger in Najran, in southwestern Saudi Arabia, and in the Eastern Province, before saying minutes later that the danger had passed in both areas.

Saudi Arabia intercepted previous missile attacks

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense said it intercepted two ballistic missiles launched by Houthis toward the Mecca and Medina regions, with debris falling in several locations, including Jeddah, Taif, and Rabigh.

This followed a Houthi announcement about attacks on Saudi oil facilities and airports on Saturday, including a Saudi Aramco facility in Yanbu, the Rabigh oil refinery, and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The terror group's military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, said it also targeted King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, as well as Najran airport and an air base in Khamis Mushait.
