The death of Sergeant Yosef Chaim Zvi Serlin, a soldier in training in Unit 504, was declared the result of a training accident with his unit, the military confirmed on Thursday.
The IDF determined that Serlin, who passed away in March, would be counted among fatalities from training accidents and not a death from illness.
Therefore, the number of fatalities who died from illness stands at 14, and the number of fatalities in training accidents stands at 1.
2025 saw death of 151 IDF soldiers
The IDF revealed that 151 soldiers lost their lives in 2025, with 88 of them falling during military operations, the military revealed on Tuesday.
The figures represent the lowest annual death toll since the war with Hamas began in 2023 and are less than half the number recorded in 2024.
The total combat-related death toll is 91 when considering that three soldiers were killed during terror attacks, according to the IDF.
