The drone intrusion sirens that sounded in Efrat, Mitzpeh Shalem, and other areas in the West Bank on Monday were a false identification, the military confirmed.

Earlier on Monday, the IDF intercepted three Houthi drones launched from Yemen. One of the two was intercepted before the alerts sounded. The other drone triggered sirens in Dimona and the surrounding areas.

Eilat police investigated whether Houthi drone shrapnel crashed in the area of Eilat or whether the remains of an interceptor crashed, they said, shortly after the IDF confirmed an earlier drone was intercepted above the sea.

Drone intrusion alerts were activated in Be'er Ora, Elifaz, and Timna.

Houthi drone hits passenger hall at Ramon Airport

On Sunday, a drone launched from Yemen struck the passenger hall at Ramon Airport near Eilat, wounding five with shrapnel.

The IDF confirmed the strike and announced that the airspace over the airport had been temporarily closed. Just a few hours later, the airspace reopened.

An IDF spokesman said the Israeli Air Force intercepted three drones during the day, two of which were destroyed before entering Israeli territory.
