Two brothers, one of them a minor, were killed in a shooting incident in Ramle between Friday night and Saturday morning, according to the Israel Police.

The victims were named as Muhammad, 23, and 16-year-old Ziad Iyad Mojerabi. Their father was critically wounded in the incident as well.

All three were evacuated to the Shamir Medical Center in Tzrifin, a police spokesperson said. Both brothers were pronounced dead upon arrival.

Several suspected of involvement in the murders arrested

The police made several arrests at the scene. According to law enforcement, the attack was a result of a conflict between gangs within the city’s Arab population.

Several weapons were also discovered by the police near the scene of the crime, and they were submitted into evidence.

After this Ramle attack, the number of deaths in the Arab sector in Israel since the beginning of the year has now surpassed 200 deaths.

Friday’s event occurred nearly a week after the police arrested two suspects for allegedly planning a terror attack in the city.

The police said that during the arrest, a suspect’s dog was commanded by its owner to attack one of the officers, who, fearing for their life, killed it in self-defense.
