Flames could be seen from the upper floors of a building in downtown Jerusalem on Wednesday afternoon.
The blaze, which the United Hatzalah international spokesperson later confirmed to The Jerusalem Post resulted in no injuries, occurred at a building on the corner of HaMatmid Alley and Meir Shaham Street, across from Independence Park.
No injuries reported
"The United Hatzalah medics were at the scene to provide standby medical attention for any potential injured, but no injuries were reported," the spokesperson said.
Police, firefighters, and emergency response service Magen David Adom personnel were all on the scene as well.
As of the time of publication, the official cause of the blaze has not yet been announced, although Baruch Levy, a senior officer with Israel Fire and Rescue Services’ Jerusalem District, said that the cause was known.
“We are currently investigating if there is a fire on the 24th floor,” he told the Post at the scene. “We know the cause, but we are not allowed to say.”
