A car in Afula exploded on Tuesday morning, leading to the death of a man in his 30s, Magen David Adom announced.
Firefighters operated to extinguish the car, while MDA paramedics attempted to revive the victim. The Israel Police was also present on the scene, and announced that they had opened an investigation into the explosion.
N12 reported that the incident had occurred adjacent to the home of a prominent figure in the crime world.
"We received a report of a car explosion," MDA emergency medical technician Avromi Wiesel said. "We arrived at the scene with large MDA forces. We saw the car on fire and shrapnel scattered on the street. A man about 30 years old was lying next to the car, unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, with multiple organ damage. We began performing CPR, which included chest compressions, and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital, where he was in critical condition while undergoing CPR."
Police arrest three after finding suspected murder victim
The police have launched an investigation after locating the body of a woman in her 50s in Haifa who is suspected to have been murdered, the police announced on Tuesday.
Over the course of the investigation, the police have arrested three men, including one whom N12 reported was the woman's husband.
The victim's cause of death has not yet been determined, however N12 also reported that signs of violence were found on her body.
Petah Tikva acid leak leads to country club evacuation
Firefighters from the Petah Tikva station and the district hazardous materials unit operated on Tuesday at the Sportan country club in Petah Tikva after a report was received of a hydrochloric acid leak.
Upon the forces’ arrival, all swimmers at the complex were evacuated immediately, and two kindergartens near the incident were instructed not to approach the area to prevent contact with or exposure to the substance.
As of now, the leak of the hazardous material has been stopped, and at this stage, no injuries have been reported.
