Israeli citizens received recruitment and intimidation text messages from unknown numbers regarding contact with the Islamic Republic on Tuesday.

The Israel Police released a statement calling the messages “attempts by Iranian intelligence elements to recruit Israeli citizens in Israel and abroad.”

Messages included offers to buy videos of the Iran war, which could be used against Israel, as well as invitations to “build your future” through contacting Iranian embassies in various countries to work with Iranian intelligence

'Soon you will see the sun in the night sky'

Others tried intimidating Israelis with threats of military action

“We promised you would soon see stars in the night sky that are not stars…soon you will see the sun in the night sky…” one message read.

Additional messages claimed that Israelis were being exploited by a government with no accountability.

“All Israelis are made to sacrifice themselves for the Prime Minister. He will never be arrested or tried. His courts are a farce,” another message read.

Anyone who receives these messages is urged to ignore all attached links and files and to block the number, the police said.
