The Petah Tikva municipality announced on Sunday that it will name its new sports hall in honor of Yemanu Binyamin Zalka, the young man killed by a group of teenagers while leaving work on the eve of Independence Day.

According to the municipality, the choice of a sports hall is not just a commemoration, but a clear message against violence. This space is expected to combine educational activities with advanced sports facilities and serve as a community hub for youth and families.

The municipality also said that it expects to turn the pain caused by the murder into a lever for a change in consciousness, conveying a clear message to the younger generation regarding the importance of choosing a different path.

The hall will serve the entire community and will constitute a significant space for education, sports, and values, the municipality emphasized.
