Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Transportation Minister Miri Regev, and National AI Directorate chief Erez Eskel held a conference call with Elon Musk on Sunday, the Prime Minister's Office confirmed on Monday.

Netanyahu and Musk spoke "at length" about the advancement of artificial intelligence in Israel, with Netanyahu stating that he intends to "catapult Israel forward and turn it into a global leader in the field."

This would match what Israel has previously achieved in "cyber and other technologies," Netanyahu added.

The call also discussed ongoing cooperation between Israel and Tesla, including efforts to advance legislation on autonomous vehicles.

During the call, Musk accepted Netanyahu and Regev's invitation to participate in the Smart Transportation Conference in Israel in March 2026.

Elon Musk calls Jewish people 'peak white' in viral X post about extinction of white people

The conversation comes weeks after Musk came under fire early this month for writing “Jews are white, if not peak white” on his social media platform X/Twitter.

His post came following his statement that white people are going extinct.

“If current trends continue, Whites will go from being a small minority of the world population today to virtually extinct!” he wrote.

Musk’s comment was in response to a post claiming that at only 8% of the world’s population, “Whites are on the verge of extinction.”
