Neither Hamas nor Israel will be taking part in the signing ceremony of US President Donald Trump's Gaza deal agreement scheduled for October 13, 2025, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, Maariv reported on Sunday.

“Hamas will not be involved in the signing process. Only mediators and American and Israeli officials will be present,” Husam Badran, a senior member of Hamas’s political bureau, said in an interview with the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya.

Donald Trump's peace summit in Egypt

Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi invited Trump to attend a signing ceremony of the Gaza deal in Egypt last week.

Following the invitation, Trump announced his plan to host a summit comprised of several world leaders regarding the Gaza Strip during his upcoming visit. The summit is being organized with assistance from al-Sisi, and several European and Arab leaders have already been invited.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and EU representatives are reported to have confirmed their attendance.

Despite an invitation, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will not be attending the summit.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will travel to Egypt to participate in the signing ceremony, the government spokesperson said in a statement on Sunday.

"Germany will be committed to implementing the peace plan, initially focusing on maintaining a stable ceasefire and providing humanitarian aid. The Chancellor is underscoring this commitment with tomorrow's trip," it added.
