Former Gaza hostage Edan Alexander will meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday, several days before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to arrive in Washington for his meeting with the president, N12 reported on Wednesday.

Alexander, who was released from Hamas captivity in May after 584 days of captivity, will also meet with First Lady Melania Trump and is expected to thank the president for his role in securing his release.

Alexander’s release was seen as a ‘gesture’ from Hamas to Trump, and the two spoke over the phone shortly after his return to Israel.

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump called for a deal to be made in Gaza and to "get the hostages back!!!" in a post to Truth Social.

Israel has given the green light for a Qatari-modified version of the Witkoff framework for a hostage deal, and all sides are awaiting a response from Hamas.
