Birthright Israel announced it will officially resume its Summer 2025 season following the ceasefire between Iran and Israel and the lifting of Home Front Command restrictions, according to a statement on Monday.

The organization said that trips would start July 6, with the return of participants to 10-day Classic trips, Onward internships, volunteer programs, and the Excel fellowship.

The first flight with US participants is scheduled to depart on July 7.

This announcement comes just 10 days after Birthright evacuated 2,800 participants from Israel, including young adults from the US, Europe, Australia, and South America.

Coordination to evacuate participants

Following the start of the Israel-Iran War, Taglit coordinated with the Home Front Command to allow the participants to leave the country.

A group of 1,500 Birthright Israel participants set sail on a 13-hour journey to Cyprus from Ashdod Port aboard an Israeli cruise ship, the Crown Iris. This effort also included Masa participants and other organizations that were running programs in Israel at the same time.

The ship was under the close protection of the Israel Navy, which escorted it across the Mediterranean, according to the organization.

"We led a historic operation grounded in resilience, responsibility, and care, and now we’re opening the gates to Israel once again,” said Gidi Mark, CEO of Birthright Israel.

"Our commitment to connecting Jewish young adults to Israel is stronger than ever, and we expect thousands of participants to arrive from now through the end of the summer season."
