Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday visited the Magen David Adom Blood Bank in Ramle to tour the space and express his gratitude to the team for their “unparalleled” work.

Netanyahu visited the space, which is the world’s first underground blood bank, along with MDA Global President Gilad Erdan, MDA Director-General Eli Bin, Chair of the MDA Executive Committee Rabbi Avraham Manela, and other MDA officials.

"What you're doing here is unparalleled in the world,” Netanyahu said.

“You're saving lives. That is the people of Israel and the State of Israel at their best"

During their tour, the group was shown the facility’s protected 101 call center, and an overview of the MDA’s specialized emergency vehicles.

Netanyahu also gave a nationwide announcement to the MDA teams, saying: "I am greatly impressed by the system that was built here, and by the thousands of volunteers. You are saving lives, and I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of the citizens of Israel. You are doing a marvelous job, thank you — you are amazing".

Netanyahu 'greatly impressed' by unparalleled technology and unparalleled volunteers

He added that he was “greatly impressed” by the ambulances and laboratories, but the most impressive thing was the volunteers themselves.

“What you've done here, what you're doing here, is unparalleled in the world. Primarily in terms of the equipment, the technology. But the structure of the activists, the volunteers, that is the people of Israel and the State of Israel at their best," he said.
