Yvette Shmilovitch, a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor, was killed last week by an Iranian missile strike in Petah Tikva, Israeli authorities confirmed on Monday, KAN News reported.

The missile strike claimed the lives of four people, including Shmilovitch, as well as Yaakov and Desi Bello, both 77, and 85-year-old Daisy Yitzhaki.

Petah Tikva Mayor Rami Greenberg issued a statement expressing his condolences: "On behalf of the city's residents, I send a big hug to the family, and strengthen their hands during this difficult time. The Petah Tikva Municipality will accompany the family and assist as needed, as we do for the other families who lost loved ones in this tragic attack."

Greenberg also stated: "We bow our heads and mourn the murder of four of the city's residents who were killed in the missile attack from Iran. These were beloved people whose only crime was wishing to live a peaceful and safe life."

Investigation into the missile strike

According to KAN, an investigation by the Home Front Command into the Petah Tikva strike revealed that the missile struck the wall between two battalion headquarters within the building, causing multiple casualties.

Hanoch Cohen, a resident of the building hit in the strike, shared his experience with KAN. "Luckily, we were in the emergency room. The entire apartment was destroyed, but the emergency room remained intact. Had I been in another room, I wouldn't be speaking to you now."
