The Association and Club of Foreign Press Correspondents USA bestowed posthumous honors on individuals exposed as terrorists who were posing as journalists for the Qatari news network Al Jazeera, Honest Reporting shared on Monday.

According to the report, 10 Al Jazeera reporters were eulogized during the association's annual gala in Washington with a moment of silence and their photos displayed at a “memorial table.”

Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst, who was given an award during the ceremony, used his speech to “criticize Israel for restricting independent journalistic access to Gaza.”

“These fearless and tenacious Palestinian journalists in Gaza who don’t have the luxury to leave when reporting becomes too dangerous,” said Yingst, and added, “May we not forget their sacrifice and contributions to our industry.”

The report also mentioned how the organizers didn’t name the “reporters,” while only pictures of the terrorists were displayed in the table.

Terrorists eulogize as Gazan reporters in Washington

Honest Reporting also shared the names of six of the terrorists eulogized during the ceremony, with them being: Anas al-Sharif, Ismail al-Ghoul, Hossam Shabat, Hamza al-Dahdouh, Mustafa Thuria, and Mohammed Salama.

Sharif was killed on Aug 10, 2025, with materials recovered from Gaza by the IDF revealed that he was the “head of a Hamas terror cell responsible for rocket attacks on Israeli civilians and IDF troops.”

Ghoul was a member of Hamas’s Nukhba forces who instructed terrorists on filming terror attacks and participating in the production and dissemination of propaganda footage.

Shabat was a sniper for Hamas’s Beit Hanoun Battalion, with documents revealing he joined the terror group as early as 2019. He also carried out attacks against Israeli troops and civilians, the report said.

Dahdouh was part of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, working with the electronic engineering unit and as the deputy commander of the Zeitoun Brigade’s rocket force. He was killed while attacking IDF troops alongside Thuria, who was a deputy squad commander in the Gaza City Brigade.

Finally, Salama was one of the terrorists who infiltrated Israel on October 7, actively documenting terror attacks on Israeli civilians.

Ties to Hamas

Al Jazeera has faced increasing criticism for its alleged connections to the terrorist organization Hamas amid the ongoing conflict. Documents uncovered by Israeli forces in Gaza in October indicated that Hamas had been providing instructions to the Qatari state-run media outlet.

These instructions reportedly aimed to suppress any signs of dissent among the local population, according to the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center.

The research center's findings concluded that Hamas's information officers have been coordinating with Al Jazeera regarding its messaging to ensure that coverage does not harm the "image of the resistance" and to justify the October 7 attack as a "legitimate military operation."

The program also aimed to portray Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar as a "warrior leader" who remained on the front lines until his death.
